Our fleet is designed to enable us to meet a wide range of customer requirements and is flexible to your individual needs. The fleet is maintained in house at our own workshop to ensure reliability and efficiency. Our vehicle renewal policy focuses on replacing vehicles at regular intervals to provide you with the most modern, state of the art capability available and to reduce as far as possible our impact on the environment.

Vehicle Tracking & Satellite Navigation:

All Bournes vehicles are fitted with state of the art Tom-Tom web fleet tracking systems. These allow us to monitor where a vehicle is at all times and to keep you updated with any traffic issues or delays, they also allow the crew to plan their route most efficiently and to re-route if necessary to avoid any delays.

Range of Vehicles:

3.5 Tonne Packing Vehicle

These vehicles allow us to handle small moves or to come in ahead of loading day to pack and wrap your belongings. They allow us to transport all the required materials, equipment and crew to your home without having to use a larger vehicle.

These vehicles can also be used to shuttle your belongings from a larger vehicle if you have limited access space.

 7.5 Tonne Vehicle

These vehicles are designed for smaller volume moves and are capable of access to most properties with access suitable for a dust cart or similar.

These vehicles mostly come with side loading doors so that any items going into store can be loaded into wooden containers straight on the vehicle and moved direct into the warehouse without the need for additional handling.

HGV2, 18 Tonne Vehicle

Ideal for larger moves, again with side loading doors to enable direct loading of containers.

These vehicles are fitted with sleeper cabs for the crew to enable us to more efficiently handle long distance moves over multiple days.

HGV2 and Draw Bar Vehicles (below) utilise the unique swap body system, which allows the main compartment to be stood down individually and swapped with another unit. This provides flexibility for the fleet and means moves requiring temporary storage in transit do not require offloading and reloading at a warehouse, thus reducing additional handling. The system also allows us to interchange 20ft shipping containers (our own or those of the shipping lines) and load storage or international consignments directly onto our vehicles, without need for additional handling or transshipping, this can be particularly useful where you do not have access for a larger container lorry. 

HGV 1, 36 Tonne Draw Bar Unit

Increased capacity without increased number of vehicles. Draw bar units add an additional trailer to the first unit and the cab is also fitted with a crew sleeper pod for long distance moves.

The swap body system also means that for long distance, larger capacity moves with limited access at destination we still only need to use one vehicle as we can swap the bodies over and use just the front part of the vehicle to deliver to your home.

These vehicles also allow us to provide cost effective solutions for part load and groupage removals by road.

Small Van / Handyman Vehicles

 These smaller van's allow our handymen or single crew members to attend your property without requiring larger vehicles that have a heavier impact on the environment and fuel costs. They are fitted with racks to carry ladders or other equipment and have been tailored inside to allow the handymen to bring all the tools they may need to help you with your move.
