I thought packing for my house removals project was going well but when I recently talked to some of our crews about how long it was taking me to pack they laughed, “We’d have all that done in a few hours” they said of a job that was taking me days…. Which got me wondering why was I so much slower?

House removals can be a stressful time with so much to think about and co-ordinate. Being well organised is key. This is where packing an essentials box for the day of your move will certainly help in having easy access to all of those items you'll need for the journey and especially when you first arrive.

If you are moving to USA with kids then you are no doubt researching the US School system. You will find many similarities to the UK. Compulsory education in the USA begins age 5, when a child enters kindergarten before progressing to elementary schools (grade 5), middle schools (grades 6-8) and finally high schools (grades 9-12). All children must attend school until 16 but most remain on until they graduate aged 17 or 18.

So, I’m moving again, and this time it's a tricky one as i'm going via 'temporary accomodation' which means i'll need to involve moving into store, 6 months in storage and a move out of store…..I had hoped to stay put for a little while in this place, but it appears I haven’t managed to stretch past 18 months! I get itchy feet….
